  • To RENEW your library materials:
    • Access the catalog.
    • Select "My Account."
    • Select "Renew My Materials."
    • Type in your user ID and PIN .
      ( Use a 2 instead of D as the first character of your Library Card Number, if necessary)
    • Select "List Charged Items" and select items to be renewed

    Place a Hold

  • To place a HOLD on an item:
    • Access the catalog.
    • Find the item you wish to place a hold
    • Click on the "Details" button.
    • Click on "Place a Hold" under the "Keep" button on the left of your screen.
    • Type in your user ID and PIN .
      ( Use a 2 instead of D as the first character of your Library Card Number, if necessary)
    • Select a pickup location.
    • Click on "Place Hold."
    • A $0.25 hold fee per item applies.

    User ID and PIN
    • Your User ID is the barcode on your library card. If the barcode begins with a "D", change the "D" to a "2".
    • Your PIN is a personal identification number that you chose when obtaining a library card.
    • Please ask a library staff member for assistance if you do not remember your PIN or wish to change it.
    • Once you are in the catalog, you may be asked for your User ID (Library Card #) and PIN when reviewing your account, placing a hold, and other features.

    How to change your PIN in the Library Catalog

  • Connect to Orange County Public Library's web page at http://www.ocpl.org
  • Click on the top button on the menu on the left labeled Catalog
    or click here to go directly to the catalog, iBistro.
  • Once you are in iBistro (the catalog), click on My Account in the darker blue bar.
  • Click on User PIN Change.
  • Enter your library card number in the Card No. box.
    (If the barcode begins with a "D", change the "D" to a "2").
  • Enter your current PIN.
    (If you are using your card for the first time or are having problems with your PIN, CHANGEME is probably your PIN.)
  • Enter a new PIN in the Enter new Pin box. (Your PIN should be at least 4 characters and no more than 10 characters long; it can be uppercase letters or a combination of uppercase letters and numbers.)
  • Verify your new PIN by entering it again in the Re-enter new PIN box.
  • Click on the Change PIN button.
  • Click on OK.
